the story of "The Online Park" production

Cyberbullying, sexual aggression, and explicit content are real dangers for youngsters in the online environment. Telekom Romania developed Kaspersky Safe Kids Premium to offer a safer internet experience for minors.

The app acts as a content filter, enables time limits, device localization, and monitoring tools. For Saga Film, this became a unique production challenge.

To reach parents directly, Telekom built a social experiment in a playground in Bucharest, highlighting how children are vulnerable in digital spaces.

The shooting took place exactly in the days before the national lockdown in 2020. Pre-production started in non-pandemic conditions, while production had to adapt overnight to newly imposed restrictions.

As the shoot approached, schools were closing. On March 11th, the Ministry of Education announced the pause of in-person classes, while shooting was scheduled for March 13th.

The director, Giovanni Fantoni Modena, arrived just before Italy's isolation announcement. On his return, he had to reroute and continue by train to reach Italy.

In addition to travel restrictions, the team faced shortages of hygiene supplies and had to create preventive safety routines before official production guidelines were released.

Production teams adapted quickly: physical distancing on set, dedicated tents and basecamp flow, and strict hygiene discipline.

The project was completed successfully despite unprecedented conditions and later received major recognition, including Cannes Lions and Eurobest awards.
